The Dancing Bee Range Of Handmade Honey and Beeswax  Soap

How we create our soap

All our soap is handmade by us, using the traditional cold process method. This is a method that has been used for thousands of years and is made by mixing an alkali (also known as lye) with water, then blending it with natural oils, followed by the addition of essential oils and natural herbs for fragrance before pouring it into decorative molds.
It then remains inside the mold for twenty four hours to saponify (become soap). Finally it is then removed and cut into bars and air dried or “cured” for four to six weeks.
This method retains, unlike most shop bought products, the natural glycerin which ensures that all our soap will have a deep creamy lather and a wonderful moisturising effect

Our Ingredients

Using this process means that unlike other methods that are used we have complete control over the ingredients that we use and so choose only the finest that are both natural and sustainable. The petals and herbs come from our own garden and dried here, the honey comes from our own hardworking colonies as does the beeswax which is 100% pure. Therefore there is absolutely no Sodium Laurel/Laureate Sulphate (SLS/SLES) present and they are also totally free of parabens (DEA/MEA) and microbeads (we use poppy seeds and herbs instead).

We are members of the Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers and our products have been safety certified by an independent safety advisor and chemist. This is in accordance with EU cosmetic regulations and means that our soap is safe and non allergenic.
